===  I. Installation                ===

a) Insert the JControl/IDE-CD into your CD drive
b) To install JControl/Eclipse-Plugin open your eclipse
c) Navigate to the menu "Help / Software Updates / Find and Install..."
d) Select the option "Search for new features to install" and click "Next"
e) Now create a new site by choosing "New Local Site..."
f) Navigate to the CD drive with the inserted JControl/IDE-CD and choose the
   eclipse directory. Confirm this by clicking the "Ok" button.
g) Type the name "JControl (local)" into the name field and confirm the dialog.
h) Make sure, that only the new created site is selected. Click on the "Finish"
   button.
i) On the following dialog select the feature "JControl (local)". This also
   selects its childs:
   "FTD2xxj" needed to communicate with the JControl/SmartDisplay EVB USB over USB,
   "RXTX" needed to integrate serial ports into the JControl environment,
   "JControl" contains the plugin core files and the support files for the plugin.
j) Click on the "Next" button, accept the licence terms, and click on the "Next"
   button twice
k) Now click the "Finish" button to finish the installation configuration
l) Confirm the "Feature Verification" dialog by clicking on "Install All"
m) Restart your eclipse

===  II. First steps                ===
#######################################

a) Navigate to the menu "Window / Open Perspective / Other..."
b) Click on "JControl" and close the dialog by clicking on the "Ok" button
c) The new JControl perspective opens. While this is the first time, a dialog pops
   up asking you to configure the settings. Press the "Yes" button.
d) While you have installed the support files plugin, a new dialog pops up and
   suggests to auto configure the pathes to point to the support files. Click the
   "Yes" button.
e) Now you see a project navigator. This is the same project navigator you know
   from the JControl/IDE. You can now right click into its area and choose "Import".
   Point to a JControl project file and press the "Open" button.
f) If the project loads, you can select it. Now you are able to simulate it or to
   upload it to the real JControl/SmartDisplay device, as you did it in the JControl/IDE.

=== III. Simulation                 ===
#######################################

To simulate a project, please select a JControl project in the project navigator, then
start the simulator by pressing the button with the pc icon behind a white arrow in a
green circle. The simulation will be started in the editor's window of the project.

Please note: An IP port will be used by the simulator to perform the I/O traffic
between the simulated device and the simulation desktop. This port is only used
to transfer data between two processes running on THE SAME machine, and it will
not be used to send messages to other PCs.

If you are using a firewall, you may have to authorize the Java Virtual Machine 
the connect to the IP network.

===  IV. Uninstallation             ===
#######################################

a) To uninstall the JControl/Eclipse-Plugin simply navigate to the menu "Help / Software
   Updates / Manage Configuration".
b) On the list search for "JControl Feature 1.0.2". Right click the line and choose
   "Uninstall" from the context menu.
c) Confirm the next dialog and restart your eclipse.
d) After restarting a dialog pops up showing a problem saing "Could not restore workbench
   layout." Confirm this and navigate to the menu "Window / Open Perspective / Java". If
   there is a button on the top right side of the eclipse ide showing the "JControl"
   perspective, you can simply right click it and choose the close command. The
   uninstallation is now complete.
